Why WeveU Exists
This didn’t start as a business idea—it started with a real worry.
I’m Luigi Pagano, an Italian who moved to London in 2012. I’ve worked as a chef, and my partner has managed restaurants. Like many working parents, we sometimes had no choice but to leave our baby daughter with babysitters—people who, despite glowing reviews and solid qualifications, were still complete strangers. Our daughter couldn’t speak yet. That lack of communication—that fear of not knowing—stuck with us.
It wasn’t just about our child. My late grandfather experienced mistreatment in a care home in Italy—two separate episodes of negligence that our family couldn’t prevent or prove. That pain stays with you.
Even our old pug wasn’t spared. Years ago, my partner and I left him with a pet sitter while we attended a weekend festival. Despite reassurances, we returned to find he’d been neglected—evidence hidden, his routine ignored.
These weren’t isolated events. They were part of a bigger problem—a gap in trust between those who care and those who rely on care. That’s why I created WeveU: to make care visible, accountable, and safer for everyone.
We’re building a discreet, lightweight wearable camera integrated with a secure app and most important with AI. It’s designed for caregivers to wear proudly, and for families to feel connected without intrusion. WeveU supports everyone involved in care—by making trust visible.
